Its after quite a long pause that this blog of Team BITSAA, Goa Campus sees a new post and hence the need for such a long one. The sem X-2 (X varying from 1 to 5 ) as we Bitsians would call it, was one memorable journey for all of us here in Team BITSAA. Here is a recap of all that happened this sem.

The sem kicked off with the Birthday celebration of Embryo on 20th January and then inductions of new members into the team, me being one of them. :)

The first initiative this sem by Team BITSAA was the micro- workshop, which was conducted by Mr. Sunil Handa, Entrepreneurship being the focus of the workshop. The workshop was attended by a number of students and definitely made them realise, that maybe choosing the path less travelled by, will make all the difference.

Thanks to the great PRing work done by the team members, we were also able to conduct three Embryo lectures this sem, but it was not just the PR work which made them successful. Right from the booking of LTs, to printing of Notices, to getting Internet connection, everything was perfect. (almost :P )

The first talk was on the topic “Confluence of Medicine and Technology”  and was delivered by Mr. Rajeev Gupta, the second one was a talk on the topic “Personal Wealth Creation and Risk Management’ and was delivered by Mr. Anand Mohan Agarwal and finally we had a talk by Ms. Samayita Choudhuri on the topic “Opportunities on Life Sciences- Ideas to Implement”. We also tried a new software GoToMeeting for an Embryo lecture, which seemed to be working fine.

So after three successful Embryo lectures this sem, all I can say is that Team Embryo \m/.

And to celebrate the success and for an unofficial sorts of farewell, a contributory dinner was organised at The Pentagon. Although the food was ok, it was the sheer enthu of the team that made the trip special. Special mentions to Saurabh bhaiya’s song and dance sequences and Lavni :P , and Vinay’s bhaiya’s songs, but the only person who really sang was Atish bhaiya.

The sem is about to end with the compres just a week and a half away, but we, here at Team BITSAA, still have one more major task at hand, organizing the Director’s Tea Party. I hope that we are able to  pull it off well making the day memorable for the seniors.

Signing off,

in fear of compres, and the hope that the Director’s Tea Party ends well, leaving nice memories with the  outgoing batch, making them realize once again that their BITSian life doesn’t end with the 4/5 years they’ve spent here at BITS. It just begins.

But before that here is a pic of Team BITSAA at the farewell :)

So, time for another batch (2nd half of 2005) to go out? All of us will be bidding farewell to the 2005 batch students in the Director’s BITSAA Farewell Tea-Party tomorrow with heavy hearts (and stomachs..  food \m/).

Hope this event becomes as successful for BITSAA (Goa Campus) team as all previous ceremoies have been! Can someone post the event photos and description here on this blog for us to read?

Hello Everyone !!

Team Embryo has succeeded once again in delivering a good lecture….:)

After coming out the trauma of Test 1, the team got back to conducting lectures. It all began with the routine testing for the lecture with Arun Maharajan Sir. We tested with the usual Skype which didn’t fail to live up to our expectations. Debanshu was all determined to try out our new discovery DimDim (funny name…haha). So after spending 2 hours with Arun Sir testing DimDim, it was finally decided to use DimDim for the lecture.

The lecture was to begin at 6:30 pm. Only 6 people had come for it by 6:25 pm. But within 5 min the whole LC was filled with students…..unbelievable.

The topic for the lecture was- Why higher studies in Germany? and so the lecture began by 6:40pm. Everything was going on fine but to our dismay DimDim started giving problems forcing us to switch over Skype…..:(

But Skype didn’t fail us in front of the audience. It worked extra good that day without any glitch……

Arun Maharajan Sir with his cool dude attitude impressed everybody who was present in the class, clearing doubts and offering a helping hand to us. We whole hearted thank Arun Sir for his co-operation.

We hope to deliver more and more successful talks.

3 cheers to Team Embryo………..:)

A New beginning

Its time to make a new beginning. With a few of us leaving and new people joining the team, the responsiblity of the existing team has increased manifold.

On one side, since we have left, it is up to the team to fill in the void that has been created and to bring in new creativity, new ideas in the working of BITSAA and Embryo.

Also on the other hand, with new people joining in, the in-house trainees as Atish has christened them, will look up to the existing team members for help and direction and it is now that all second year members have to realize that they will have to work doubly hard to show the new members how BITSAA and Embryo work and also so that when they look up to you, they see a senior member of the team who is responsible and works to compete with deadlines. They should not see a team that hardly works, meets for a few meetings, goes for a few parties and then comes to the end of the sem with no earth shattering work done in the entire sem. And this responsiblity is not on any individual, it is on each one of you.

The team already has a visit lined for end of the month, also with Quark you have a chance to showcase your hard work. The new BSNL connection is also a chance for Embryo to catch up on that lost last sem.I am very sure that you will not let all the faculty members and all of us who believe in you, down.

With the best interest of the team at heart as always

Alvida… BITS!

Hi Team,

A final goodbye from my side. In another hour, I’m logging out of AH4, 234 – BITS, Pilani – Goa Campus where I have spent 3.5 memorable years of my life, in the company of great friends for life, awesome faculty, true-to-heart staff and in touch with rocking BITSian alums. This place has given me an opportunity to interact with all of you and I will continue to remember BITS for being the most significant chapter of my life till date.

As the motto goes.. “The BITSian chapter of my life doesn’t end with just 4 years of college, it just begins out there…”.

This is Vishrut Shukla (2005A7PS112G) logging out of BITS-Pilani with a heavy heart but with even more delightful memoirs.

However, “The Journey Continues”… forever…

I will be available for BITS-Pilani and of course, BITSAA, at all times and will still be associated with campus activities for the benefit of BITSians around the globe.

Thanks & Best Regards,
Vishrut Shukla

Here’s wishing a very Happy Birthday to BITSAA (Goa Campus)!

November 17th, 2006 – LT-1 : That’s when Mr. Ashish Garg (CEO, BITSAA International) in the presence of Suresh Ramaswamy sir, (Late) Director Sir, M. K. Deshmukh sir etc and almost all the students of BITS, Pilani – Goa Campus (the LT had no space to sit, look at the photo!), signed our declaration of setting up BITSAA on-campus.

Happy 2nd Birthday BITSAA!

Happy 2nd Birthday BITSAA!

We have come a long way since then with numerous successful visits, on-campus interactions, virtual meet/interactions and knowledge-sharing sessions with distinguished BITS alums, and have strived to passionately devote time for the cause of making BITS-Pilani the most admired institute in the world!

I think the BITSAA team deserves a special big THANKS for making this possible! Thanks to our Late Director Prof. T. C. Goel sir, faculty in-charge Prof. Ramaswamy and our dear alums for giving your precious time and guiding our passion.
Hope we continue to work for the prosperity of BITS-Pilani all our lives!

Hip hip hurray!

With best wishes,
Vishrut
